Mount Grace Gun Dogs

Nottinghamshire Beekeepers Association

There will be an observation hive with bees flying so public can see them working and a virtual hive with photos to show the inside of actual hive. Plus, a microscope skep and honey tasting. Honey and candles will be for sale. Children will be able to participate in candle rolling.

Ongoing exhibition/ demonstration showing the hand spinning of various fibres including Dog, Cat, Horse, Rabbit, Sheep etc. Bring your hairy pet and give it a brush, then see the hair spun into yarn.

Rand Farm Park 

A variety of farm animals and pets to see. Children will be able to feed Lambs with bottles and handle Rabbits.

Highland Pony Society

Highland Pony Society. Information on the versatile breed which even today is used in Scotland for use as a pack animal bringing stags from the hills after shoots. Please visit the stand to learn about history of the pony.

Derek Tindall & Birds of Prey

There will be Owls, Falcons, Hawks and a Vulture from around the world. They have been used in T.V. and Film. Available for B.O.P experiences, school visits, weddings etc.

Wellhead Upholstery

We will be doing demonstrations in Traditional Upholstery. We will also have items for sale e.g. Chairs, Dog Beds, Cushions and Bunting.

Dukeries Wood Turning

The Dukeries Woodturning Society meets on the first Wednesday of each month between 6pm and 9pm in the Community Workshop, Dukeries Academy, Ollerton, Nottinghamshire. There is a Professional Demonstrator who demonstrates some aspect of wood turning each month. We own our own lathe. We use a video camera to project a view of the demonstrator as he works in close up so that everyone can see in detail what is happening. The society is open to all irrespective of age, race or gender.

We make rustic signs using branding irons heated in a blacksmith forge. Also, wooden trugs which we decorate and personalise. Wooden Gypsey Flowers made or a shave horse which we give away.

THE SHOW GOES ON  ... but in the light of the recent DEFRA TB pre and post movement policy which came into operation on 6 April we have written to all our cattle exhibitors to make absolutely certain that everyone is aware of the salient points that will have an immediate impact on this year’s show.

We are pleased to announce that the British Goat Society will be awarding the BARONESS BURDETT-COUTTS Challenge Cup for the best qualifying Inspection-Production Goat over two years old and theEGERTON PERPETUAL Challenge Trophy for the AN securing highest points in Inspection and Milking.

These special awards are in addition to the rosettes and certificates annually awarded
