An A to Z round-up of the 2016 Nottinghamshire County Show

A is for Agriculture and the reason the Show began and Animals which are a main attraction at the Show.

B is for Bread Making and Baking in the Cookery Demonstration Theatre.

C is for Countryside Area and exciting displays, including Falconry, Gundogs, Ferrets and Birds of Prey.

D is for Dogs who are welcome at the Show. Why not enter your dog into the Companion Dog Show while you are here?

E is for Entertainment of which there is plenty at this year’s Show.

F is for Food Experience  where you can find a wide selection of local and other quality British Produce as well as enjoy cookery demonstrations from local and visiting chefs.

G is for Grand Parade a grand finale to the Show on Sunday.

H is for Horticultural Exhibitors and their colourful Floral Art displays in the Lady Eastwood.

I is for Innovative ideas shown by those schools entering the President’s Challenge.

J is for Jumping of which there will be plenty from Show Jumping to cycle jumping.

K is for Kiosks located around the site selling programmes and ice creams

L is for Lady Eastwood Centre where you can visit the feature display, browse amongst the craft stalls and marvel at the Floral Art displays. 

M is for Members, why not become one and enjoy the fabulous benefits on offer?

N is for Newark Ring where you can watch top Show Jumpers compete for prizes.

O is for Opening hours 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. – 9 hours of fun filled action.

P is for the Parade, of livestock, heritage and much more.

Q is for Quiz – especially designed for children to follow a trail around the Show.

R is for Rand Farm – come and meet the animals, bottle feed the lambs and learn all about what happens down on the farm. .

S is for Sheep Show and Stuart Barnes Dog and Duck Display, all exciting and not to be missed. Find them in the Countryside Area.

T is for Trade Stands where you can shop or browse to your heart’s content.

U is for Udders whether they be Holstein, Jersey or any other Dairy, they’ll all be found in the Livestock Rings.

V is for Vintage Vehicles and Classic Cars which will be on Show, sparkling and in pristine condition.

W is weather - whatever the weather there's plenty to see and do inside and out.

X is for eXtreme, jaw dropping action sports shows with BMX Flatland and freerunning by Inspire Shows.

Y is for Young Famers Clubs who bring their zany sense of fun.

Z is for Zone, our Family Zone to be precise! Lots of activities to join in with and all inside the George Stephenson Exhibition Hall.

We are extending the closing date for entries until Monday 3 April!



THE SHOW GOES ON  ... but in the light of the recent DEFRA TB pre and post movement policy which came into operation on 6 April we have written to all our cattle exhibitors to make absolutely certain that everyone is aware of the salient points that will have an immediate impact on this year’s show.

We are pleased to announce that the British Goat Society will be awarding the BARONESS BURDETT-COUTTS Challenge Cup for the best qualifying Inspection-Production Goat over two years old and theEGERTON PERPETUAL Challenge Trophy for the AN securing highest points in Inspection and Milking.

These special awards are in addition to the rosettes and certificates annually awarded
